Fuel TV Tour

As you may know, I've been back in the US for a little over a week now so the posts have been thin. Well, today I got to do something that I'd like to share.

JJ, a long-time friend of mine has worked in Los Angeles for Fuel TV for about five years. Today was the first time I had the opportunity to visit him at work, which is located on Sepulveda Blvd just off the 405 at Santa Monica Blvd in west LA. From the outside the building is just your standard high-rise office building but inside, the offices definitely have an "action-sports" feel to them. Lots of Mountain Dew and Red Bull ads and product, graffiti art on the wall, and the open-office architecture that is common in the industry. It's a creative environment for sure (note the entire wall of CDs on the left).

Fuel TV is owned by Fox, which also owns the National Geographic Channel, Fox News, Fox Soccer Channel, among others. Several of their channels are based in this building and share some resources. Fuel TV has about 65 people here that do things like marketing, music acquisitition, video shooting, and video editing.
They weren't shooting any shows on the day I was in so the place was pretty quiet. I'll need to go back next time Blink182 is in the office again. :-) Here's one of the NASA-like control rooms:

Check out their website if you get a chance: http://www.fuel.tv/

Super big thank you to JJ for a nice tour and lunch! Here's the Hollywood mover and shaker in his office (sorry about the silhouette-phone-camera quality):
